The Student Edit (“TSE”, “we”, “us”) is an affiliate storefront run by Front Porch Stitchery. We collect the minimum information we need to run the site, send you emails you asked for, and get paid by affiliate partners. We do not sell your data. Ever.

What we are not
Not a store. We do not sell products directly, hold inventory, or ship anything ourselves. All purchases happen on our partners’ sites.
Not your bank. We do not process payments. Your card details go to the partner, not to us.
Not customer service for products. If a product arrives late or broken, that is between you and the seller. We will help you find the right contact if you ask.
Using the site
You agree not to attack or abuse the site, not to send anything illegal, hateful, or spammy through our forms, and to be at least 13 years old or have a parent’s permission.
Content and picks
Every pick on this site is our opinion based on research, reviews, and where possible hands-on use. Prices, availability, and specifications change constantly — always double-check on the partner’s site before you buy.

Most product links on TSE are affiliate links. We earn a commission when you buy, at no extra cost to you. See the affiliate disclosure below for the full detail.
No warranty
We do our best, but the site is provided “as is”. We cannot guarantee that every price is current, every product still exists, or every partner is in stock. When you buy from a partner, their terms apply to that purchase.
Liability

The Student Edit is an affiliate storefront. When you click a product link and buy something, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. That is how this site pays for itself.
What “affiliate” means
Companies like Amazon, Temu, and Bluehost run affiliate programmes. Anyone, including us, can sign up and get a unique tracking link. When you click our link and buy within a set window — usually 24 hours to 90 days depending on the partner — the partner pays us a small percentage of the sale. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise.
Which partners we work with
Temu — our pilot partner for student essentials.
Amazon Associates — for products we cannot get through smaller partners.
Bluehost — for readers who want to start their own site.
Digistore24 — for select digital products.
We add and drop partners regularly. Every outbound link that earns us a commission is either labelled clearly or covered by this blanket disclosure.
How we pick products
Commission does not decide what we feature. We pick based on whether a product solves a real student problem, what real buyers say in their reviews, price relative to alternatives, shipping reliability (especially to South Africa, our priority market), and whether we would recommend it to a friend or younger sibling.
Sponsored content
If a brand ever pays us directly to feature a product, rather than standard affiliate commission, we label the page Sponsored at the top. As of the date above we have no sponsored content on the site.
Promo codes
You will see codes like EDIT001 throughout the site. They are dual purpose: they give you a small discount where the partner allows it, and they attribute the sale to us. Using them costs you nothing.
