FAQ

Straight answers, no runaround.

How the affiliate model works, how picks get chosen, what happens to your email, and what to do when an order goes sideways.

No. The Student Edit is an affiliate storefront. We curate the picks and link out to the retailer — Temu, Amazon, Bluehost, or Digistore24 — who handles the price, the payment, the shipping, and the returns. We hold no inventory and never see your card details.

No. You pay the same price you would pay going directly to the retailer. The partner pays us a small commission out of their margin. Where a partner allows it, our code EDIT001 also gives you a small discount.

Five checks: does it solve a real problem, what do real buyers say in the low-star reviews, is the price fair against at least three alternatives, does it actually ship where you live, and would we hand it to a younger sibling. Commission never decides. The full method is on our reviews page.

Because retailer prices change daily and a stale price tag is worse than none. The band tells you which budget bracket a pick sits in; the live number is on the retailer page, one click away.

We do not ship anything — our partners do. But South Africa is a priority market, so we keep a dedicated South Africa edit where every pick has been checked for SA delivery, customs handling, and load-shedding practicality.

Every Friday. Five to eight picks go up in this week’s drop, and anything that failed a re-check comes down. Drops are timed to the school calendar, so August and January are the busiest.

We send you the weekly drop and nothing else. We do not sell, rent, or trade it, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe. Full detail is in our privacy policy.

The purchase contract is with the retailer, so returns and refunds go through them. Email us anyway — we will point you at the right contact, and if we hear the same complaint repeatedly the pick gets pulled.

None currently. If a brand ever pays for placement rather than standard affiliate commission, the page will say Sponsored at the top. That rule is in our affiliate disclosure.

Yes. Use the contact form and include the product, the market it is for, and where it ships. We read everything, and we reply to serious pitches within a business day or two.

Still stuck? Send a note or email hectormahady@frontporchstitchery.ai. We answer everything.

Affiliate disclosure. The Student Edit curates and reviews — we do not sell, stock, or ship anything. Product links go out to retail partners such as Temu, Amazon, and Bluehost, and we may earn a commission when you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Commission never decides what makes the edit. Full detail on the affiliate disclosure page.
